Over 190,000 visitors attended the Royal Highland Show over four days, and Salers had a good show of cattle and plenty of visitors to the cattle lines and the stand. The Salers continued a fantastic show at Balmoral as our group of three took the reserve interbreed title under Simmental breeder and judge Billy Robson. The group consisted of the breed champion Gladiateur from John Elliot, who was joined by the reserve breed champion Carrick View Heloise from George McCall and then John Elliot’s French-bred cow Unity.

Sold through Lawrie and Symington, Lanark on 13/10/09, a pen of ten pure Salers bullocks from Benson Wemyss, Edston, Peebles, weighing 274kgs. at 6 ½ months of age sold to a top price of £680 per head or £2.48 per kg, an average dwg of 1.3kg. First at this money was David Watson, Darnford, Banchory, Aberdeen, who sold Darnford Dynamite, a 18 month old Chapelpark Ali son out of Precieux daughter Drumlegagh Bea.
